Home office upgrade

In this article I want to talk about how I upgraded my home office setup- as I started working from home full-time thanks to the pandemic, I found that my existing setup was not ideal.

Existing setup…

  1. IKEA MICKE desk
  2. IKEA MILLBERGET chair
  3. HP Pavilion 21.5 inch full HD monitor

Here are the upgrades…

I wanted the ability to work standing and to economize on money and extra space I bought a standing desk converter instead of a new standing desk:

  • VIVO Black Height Adjustable 32 inch Standing Desk Converter, Sit Stand Dual Monitor and Laptop Riser Workstation (DESK-V000K)

I wanted more screen real estate, so got a second monitor (identical to my first one), a dual monitor desk mount stand and brackets (to attach the monitors to the stand):

  • HP Pavilion 22cwa 21.5-Inch Full HD 1080p IPS LED Monitor (T4Q59AA)
  • VIVO Dual LCD Monitor Desk Mount Stand (STAND-V002)
  • VIVO Quick Attach VESA Adapter Plate Bracket Designed for HP Pavilion Monitors (MOUNT-HP23XW)

I also had to purchase a DVI-D to VGA adapter to hook up the second monitor to my PC graphics card.

  • DVI to VGA Adapter, ABLEWE 1080p Active DVI-D to VGA Adapter Converter 24+1 Male to Female Adapter
Standing desk converter and dual monitor setup

Finally I replaced the IKEA chair with a Herman Miller Aeron chair!

Aeron Chair by Herman Miller — Highly Adjustable Graphite Frame — with PostureFit — Carbon Classic, Size B (Medium) (Renewed)

I’ve been working with this upgraded home office setup for 2 months now and I’m very happy with it!

PS:

  • I don’t get paid by any seller for recommending the products mentioned in this article
  • Extra brownie points if you figured that I am a Witcher fan based on the wall poster and the funko pop toy in the pic :)
